About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at VUU Manufacturing Inc. as a key member of our culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our clients and staff.
  • Develop and implement new menu items and recipes to enhance our culinary offerings.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
  • Manage inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize resource utilization.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant or similar food service environment.
  • Tasks: Must be able to prepare and cook a variety of meals and dishes, including special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Supervision: Will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Cuisine Specialties: Canadian, Greek, and European cuisine.
  • Security and Safety: Must undergo a criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Must have excellent oral communication skills, be dependable, and a team player.
  • Experience: Experience an asset, but not required.
