We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Island Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with members of our healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless coordination and effective communication.
- Patient Assessment and Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop personalized care plans, taking into account their medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Respiratory Care and Interventions: Perform or assist with various respiratory interventions, such as airway maintenance, line insertions, inductions, and intubations, as needed.
- Education and Support: Provide patients and their families with education and support to help them manage their respiratory conditions and improve their overall health.
- Clinical Decision-Making: Use your expertise and judgment to make informed decisions about patient care, taking into account the latest research and clinical guidelines.
- Education and Certification: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy and be certified as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists.
- Experience: Have at least 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with a strong background in patient care and clinical decision-making.
- Skills and Abilities: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
