About the Position

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with specialized claims knowledge in a multifaceted claims environment.

As a Claims Relationship Specialist, you will oversee both internal and external claims interactions for Commercial and Specialty Lines, along with certain Personal Lines claims and underwriting. Collaborating with Clients, Agents, Brokers, and Intact business partners, you will advocate for our premier claims service offering. This involves aiding in the servicing and retention of client accounts, fostering and maintaining robust, positive relationships with clients and brokers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction within established service standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture business relationships with clients, agents, and brokers to support new business initiatives, retention, and cross-selling across all lines and regions, ensuring service consistency.
  • Lead or contribute to project/client presentations for prospective and existing clients and brokers to enhance claims service initiatives.
  • Actively gather market intelligence from various internal and external sources to provide underwriting and claims leadership with timely insights into claims trends, facilitating process enhancements and strategic decision-making.
  • Negotiate claim services by understanding client business or broker portfolio requirements and implement transition plans for new accounts.
  • Develop and execute tailored claims strategies for major clients, ensuring adherence to performance guarantees and specific claim handling instructions as necessary.
  • Monitor client service outcomes, identify pertinent service issues, and collaborate with claims, underwriting, agents, brokers, and clients to resolve issues and create action plans when needed.
  • Support the audit process with external claims service partners as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards appropriate to the role.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in your area of expertise and the insurance industry.
  • Assist in the marketing and sales of products and services to both new and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders, including claims, underwriting, and risk management.
  • Encourage the internalization of claims and the use of strategic vendor partnerships.

Your Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in claims handling or underwriting within Commercial and Specialty Lines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry, particularly in Commercial and Specialty Lines related to client services and claims products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to analyze claims data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster client relationships and support sales initiatives.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and negotiation abilities, along with project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance principles.
  • Ability to collaborate and motivate team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • A bachelor's degree and CIP designation are preferred.
