Accident Benefits Claims Specialist

The Accident Benefits Claims Specialist is tasked with the oversight and management of claims related to automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle accidents, focusing on cases of low to moderate complexity. The successful candidate will possess a vibrant personality and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position requires thorough investigation, evaluation, and prompt resolution of claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging with clients via telephone to collect detailed information regarding claims and injuries
  • Evaluating and processing new claims, performing comprehensive investigations, assessing needs, determining eligibility for benefits, and delivering outstanding customer service
  • Prioritizing claims related to Insurers, Loss Transfer, and WSIB
  • Assisting clients throughout the claims process to ensure service excellence and effective resolution
  • Providing timely and effective communication through written and verbal channels to clients, legal representatives, medical professionals, rehabilitation centers, and service providers
  • Administering benefit payments in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Securing managerial approval for claims exceeding authority limits
Qualifications:
  • Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience
  • CIP designation or progress towards obtaining it
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing casualty claims
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with insurance contracts across various jurisdictions
  • Understanding of claims settlement principles, policy language, fraud detection, and coverage matters
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to cross-reference information
  • Proficient general computer skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
