PET Imaging and Therapy Technologist

Position: Nuclear Medicine PET Technologist
Organization: PHSA
Location: Vancouver, BC
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive clinical PET/CT imaging, including selecting protocols, positioning patients, acquiring images, reconstructing data, and delivering final results to the PET physician.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, obtaining necessary consent, and ensuring their safety throughout.
- Conduct technical duties such as correlating patient history, recording vital signs, and administering radiotracers.
- Ensure patient safety, operate PET/CT machinery, and be prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Certification from CAMRT in Nuclear Medicine is required.
- A minimum of three years of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is essential.
- Completion of formal education in PET/CT or equivalent training/experience is necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in Nuclear Medicine protocols, PET/CT imaging systems, research methodologies, patient care practices, effective communication, and familiarity with clinical equipment and systems.
Additional Qualifications:
- A strong understanding and commitment to reconciliation initiatives and Indigenous rights.
- Awareness of the social, economic, political, and historical factors impacting Indigenous communities.
