About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at Avish Constructions. As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality custom cabinets and furniture pieces using various woodworking techniques and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Custom Cabinets: Create detailed specifications for custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and meet client requirements.
  • Operate Woodworking Machines: Safely operate power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Shape and Finish Woodwork: Use hand tools, such as planes, chisels, and wood files, to shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces.
  • Supervise and Train: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure high-quality work and efficient production.
  • Estimate and Order Materials: Accurately estimate costs and materials needed for projects and order supplies as required.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience in cabinetmaking or a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, efficient, excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, and a team player.
