Position Overview
The Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist will report directly to the Associate Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis.

This role encompasses the comprehensive financial forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting processes, alongside conducting variance analyses of operational plans, evaluating investor returns, performing quarterly valuations, and generating internal monthly reporting dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Asset Management and Reporting teams.
- Maintain and refine monthly reporting packages (utilizing Excel and PowerBI Dashboards), providing in-depth analysis and commentary on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to deliver insights into budget variances and market trends.
- Drive continuous automation through advanced Excel formulas and streamline workflow processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work in partnership with Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing, and Reporting teams to formulate budgets and develop 5-year plans for various income-generating real estate funds.
- Sustain and improve financial models to project critical performance metrics, including cash flow, margin returns, operating returns, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), Multiple on Invested Capital (MOIC), and Net Present Value (NPV).
Qualifications
- A completed undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is essential.
- Progress towards further education or finance/accounting designations is preferred.
- Strong Excel modeling and analytical capabilities are required.
- A minimum of one to two years of experience in development, corporate, or real estate accounting or FP&A is advantageous.
- Familiarity with PowerBI dashboarding is beneficial.
- Experience with Yardi or similar asset management/ERP systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated focus on performance, accountability, and driving results.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships through collaboration and communication.
