Medical Imaging Booking Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Imaging Booking Clerk at BC Cancer. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking patient appointments for designated areas within Radiology.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and book inpatient and outpatient appointments in accordance with established priority levels and medical/technical staff schedules.
- Arrange daycare beds for various procedures, including emergency appointments, and reschedule appointments when notified that beds are not available.
- Pre-register daycare patients by obtaining patient information and entering it into the computerized patient database.
- Locate relevant patient information, such as images/films and consultation histories, by communicating with physicians' offices, nursing units, or other hospitals.
- Enter booking and image/film information into the applicable computerized and/or manual booking system.
- Register patients by obtaining essential or changed information from patients and/or patient documentation.
- Maintain requisitions for all inpatient and outpatient bookings by making labels, filing requisitions, and creating hard files when required.
- Grade 12, two years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
