We currently have an opening for an experienced **Director, Supply Chain** at our Dartmouth, NS location.
**The Position**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership**
- Develop and execute Mara’s global supply chain strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution functions, across multiple locations and time zones.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes, ensuring best practices are implemented across the supply chain.
**Sales & Operations Planning**
- Lead sales and operations process and Implement effective inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce working capital.
- Through monthly sales & operations meetings, coordinate with sales, marketing, and production teams to execute the production plan. Align supply chain activities with the plan.
- Utilize data analytics to predict trends, optimize supply chain performance, and address potential disruptions.
**Logistics Procurement & Vendor Management**
- Oversee contract manufacturer and logistics related procurement while ensure quality and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contract manufacture and logistics service providers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring compliance with contracts and standards while driving continuous improvement.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies for supplier reliability and material availability.
**Logistics & Distribution Management**
- Direct logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing transportation and distribution costs.
- Oversee warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring proper inventory management and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations.
- Partner with logistics providers to ensure efficient global supply chain operations.
**Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement**
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics to measure operational success and supply chain efficiency.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Leverage technology solutions such as ERP systems to automate and optimize supply chain operations.
**Compliance & Risk Management**
- Ensure compliance with all relevant global industry regulations, trade laws, and internal policies.
- Proactively manage supply chain risks, including geopolitical issues, natural disasters, and other potential disruptions.
- Develop contingency plans to maintain business continuity in case of supply chain disruptions.
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing global supply chains, including procurement, logistics, and S&OP process and inventory management.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.
- Expertise in supply chain technologies, including ERP, TMS, WMS, and forecasting tools.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPM) is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
