Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Manager to join our team at No Frills. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for leading the produce department and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and develop staff to understand our policies and procedures, and to provide excellent customer service.
  • Schedule department staff to meet business needs and ensure efficient operations.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety, and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Train and motivate staff to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
  • Delegate and prioritize workload for staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Effectively merchandise and promote produce products to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Recommend sales goals and strategies to drive business growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activities to ensure we remain competitive.
  • Ensure accurate receiving, storing, and handling of produce products to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and signage to enhance sales and customer experience.
  • Ensure pricing integrity and accuracy.
  • Take ownership of store operations in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure exceptional customer service, competitive pricing, and a clean and safe store environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of management experience, preferably in a retail or food service environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience leading a produce department, with a focus on customer service and sales growth.
  • Experience working in meat, deli, and bakery departments is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for a discount food store like No Frills, including low price image and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the produce department's impact on store performance, including merchandising, inventory management, pricing, and cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to work with minimal functional direction.
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of the produce area, operations, and products.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
