Produce Department Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Manager to join our team at NOFRILLS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train staff to understand policies and procedures, and ensure effective communication with customers.
  • Schedule department staff to meet business needs and handle customer complaints efficiently.
  • Comply with Health and Safety and Food Safety policies, and ensure staff adherence.
  • Train and motivate staff, delegate workload, and prioritize tasks.
  • Effectively merchandise advertising and promotional programs, and recommend sales goals.
  • Maintain market trend and competitor activity knowledge, and ensure proper product rotation.
  • Ensure pricing integrity, and maintain store hygiene standards.
  • Assume store responsibility in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of management experience, with 1-3 years of leading the produce department.
  • Experience working in meat, deli, and bakery is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for the NOFRILLS concept, and the produce department's impact on store performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus, and ability to manage people.
  • Ability to work with minimal functional direction, and solid knowledge of produce area operations and products.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
