Position Overview

This is a part-time role, requiring up to 24 hours of work per week.

The primary responsibility involves cleaning and maintaining all Grand River Transit (GRT) buses, Mobility PLUS vehicles, and additional support vehicles, including those used by supervisors and fleet support equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning and servicing of transit vehicles to ensure optimal operational standards.
  • Work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, while being flexible to transfer to different regional locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of grade 12 education, with demonstrated reading, writing, mathematical, and communication skills, along with at least one year of experience in vehicle and equipment servicing.
  • Familiarity with corporate policies, procedures, and relevant legislation pertaining to vehicle maintenance, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with oversight from a supervisor, and to communicate effectively regarding parking assignments and vehicle repair delays.
  • Possession of a valid Class DZ driver's license and a clean driving record to operate regional vehicles.
  • Submission of an acceptable Police Information Check (Level 2) for bondability purposes.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Capability to interpret fuel and mileage documentation and report any defects accurately.
