Vehicle Maintenance Associate

Position Overview
This is a part-time role, requiring up to 24 hours of work per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of all Grand River Transit (GRT) buses, Mobility PLUS vehicles, and various support vehicles, including supervisory vans and fleet support equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and servicing of transit vehicles to ensure operational efficiency.
- Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, while being flexible to transfer to different Regional work locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of grade 12 education, along with a minimum of one year of experience in servicing vehicles and equipment.
- Familiarity with corporate policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and Highway Traffic Act.
- Ability to work independently while being subject to supervisor review, particularly regarding changes in parking assignments and vehicle repair delays.
- Possession of a valid Class DZ driver's license with a satisfactory driving record for operating Regional vehicles.
- Provision of an acceptable Police Information Check (Level 2) for bondability purposes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to interpret fuel and mileage records and document any vehicle defects.
