Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Motor Vehicle Mechanics to join our team at Davidson Contract Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of our fleet of trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise a team of 11-15 motor vehicle mechanics and apprentices
    • Provide technical guidance and support to team members
  • Operational Management
    • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to ensure timely completion
    • Estimate costs and materials for repairs and maintenance
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
  • Training and Development
    • Train or arrange for training of team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Communication and Administration
    • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders
    • Maintain accurate records and reports of maintenance activities
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Other trades certificate or diploma
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
    • Work under pressure to meet maintenance schedules
