Lead the Opening of a New Village

Schlegel Villages is seeking a visionary General Manager to lead the opening of our new village in Stouffville, Ontario. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing operational plans to ensure the success and sustainability of the village.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational plans to support the village's mission and goals
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide exceptional resident-centered care and services
  • Collaborate with community partners to foster authentic relationships and partnerships
  • Manage the village's budget and financial resources to ensure profitability and sustainability
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a health or social services field
  • Three to five years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in retirement living or long-term care
  • Successful completion of a post-graduate study in retirement home/long-term care leadership
  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Proven strength-based leadership and a deep understanding of senior living
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Experience in operational fiscal management
  • Previous experience opening or supporting the opening of a new long-term care home
