Cost Analysis Specialist

The Cost Analysis Specialist plays a crucial role in the continuous evaluation of product costing through efficient data collection methods. This position aims to deliver precise and insightful costing information to all management levels within the Brandt Group of Companies, thereby strengthening and standardizing cost accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting thorough planning and data collection to assess costs associated with business activities, including raw material acquisitions, labor, inventory, and overhead expenses.
- Evaluating the collected data and documenting the findings.
- Investigating alterations in product design, raw materials, manufacturing techniques, or services to understand their impact on costs.
- Reviewing actual manufacturing expenses and generating regular reports that compare standard costs with actual production costs, covering aspects such as purchase price variances and work order discrepancies.
- Ensuring the integrity of processes within Manufacturing, Intercompany, and Inventory while collaborating with cross-functional teams to address process challenges.
- Documenting cost data for effective expenditure management.
- Conducting audits of costs and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Estimating costs for new and proposed products.
- Providing management with detailed reports that specify and compare factors influencing product pricing and profitability.
- Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to review and analyze new product costing.
- Maintaining the cost accounting system.
- Overseeing physical inventories and managing the cycle count program.
- Reconciling inventories of finished goods.
