Clinical Services Coordinator

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Community Outreach Worker to provide clinical services to adults and their families affected by mental illness and/or substance use or gambling disorder. As a key member of our team, you will work in both clinic and community settings, providing a range of services including screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management/navigation, individual and group treatment. Your expertise in harm reduction, community development, and psychosocial rehabilitation will be essential in navigating, advocating, and coordinating resources and services within Mental Health and Addictions and the community.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Social Work degree, registered or eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body, and one year of post-BSW clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions. Your skills in screening and risk assessment, including suicide risk assessment, will be valuable in this role. You must be able to work independently, assess situations, and implement evidence-based plans of care. Your working knowledge of the DSM and experience in offering brief, supportive intervention strategies focusing on harm reduction and recovery are essential. Additionally, you should be able to navigate and de-escalate situations, offer crisis support, and facilitate groups. Your ability to use motivational interviewing skills, engage with clients/families, and demonstrate knowledge of community resources and program development methods will be highly valued. You should also have a strong understanding of recovery-oriented practice, client and family-centered care, and social determinants of health. Experience with trauma-informed care and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, so strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions are essential. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours- Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

$33.27-$42.01 hourly
