About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Services Coordinator to provide a range of clinical services to adults and their families affected by mental illness and/or substance use or gambling disorder. This role requires a high degree of independent practice, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to implement an evidence-based plan of care.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Social Work degree, registered or eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body, and one year of post-BSW clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions. The ideal candidate will have screening and risk assessment skills, including suicide risk assessment, and experience in offering brief, supportive intervention strategies focusing on harm reduction and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services to adults and their families affected by mental illness and/or substance use or gambling disorder.
  • Assess clients' needs and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and family members to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources and program development methods.
  • Apply principles of harm reduction, community development, and psychosocial rehabilitation in practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Social Work degree.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body.
  • One year of post-BSW clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions.
  • Screening and risk assessment skills, including suicide risk assessment.
  • Experience in offering brief, supportive intervention strategies focusing on harm reduction and recovery.
Working Conditions

This is a long assignment full-time position, 75 hours biweekly, approximately 8 months. The successful candidate will work in both clinic and community settings, providing a wide range of services including screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management/navigation, individual and group treatment.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $33.27-$42.01. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits package.
