Position Overview

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you will play a vital role in a collaborative health care environment, empowering patients to maintain their independence in both home and community settings. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of our Personal Support Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, household chores, respite care, and medication management
  • Ensuring a safe environment by applying proper safety techniques and home safety practices
  • Offering emotional, social, and cognitive support to enhance patient well-being
  • Preparing nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to making a positive impact in patients' lives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Certification as a Personal Support Worker, Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing program
  • A current vulnerable sector check and clear background screening are required to ensure patient safety

Additional Incentives for New Graduates

New PSW graduates from an approved program may qualify for a bonus of $10,000 in exchange for a commitment to a full-time position for a year, with payments at six and twelve months.

An additional $10,000 relocation bonus is available for those moving to rural or remote areas, contingent upon a one-year commitment.
