Key Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, household chores, respite care, and medication management
- Ensuring a safe environment by employing proper techniques for body mechanics and transfers
- Offering cognitive, social, and emotional support to clients
- Preparing nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs, following safe food handling practices.
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of clients
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker, Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care Aide, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing program
- Current vulnerable sector check screening and a clear background check are required to ensure client safety
Additional Opportunities
New graduates from approved PSW programs in Ontario may qualify for a bonus of $10,000 in exchange for a commitment to a full-time position for a specified duration, with payments distributed at intervals.
