Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care services, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
- Conduct health education and promotion activities to empower patients and their families to take an active role in their healthcare.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Two years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care services to patients with complex physical, psychiatric, and/or substance abuse/misuse disorders.
- Successful completion of Occupational First Aid II (OFA II) or OFA III techniques.
- Working knowledge of community health nursing theory, including mental health and addictions, communicable diseases, and primary care.
- Knowledge of the BC Mental Health Act and other relevant facilities and community resources.
- Working knowledge of facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action, the In Plain Sight Report, and other related reports.
