Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. is a multi-faceted construction enterprise offering superior civil, electrical, and mechanical services, including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. As one of Canada's largest and most diverse construction firms, we seek exceptional craft professionals to support our expanding project portfolios. We focus on hiring individuals who prioritize safety and are dedicated to maintaining our 'zero injury' culture.

Reporting to the designated site supervisor, the Millwright Foreperson will provide comprehensive knowledge and support in the Millwright profession to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. meets its project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret diagrams and schematic drawings to establish work procedures.

· Operate rigging equipment and dollies to transport heavy machinery and components.

· Install bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts with precision.

· Align and test equipment, making necessary adjustments.

· Conduct preventive and operational maintenance, utilizing procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective components.

· Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic controls.

· Perform tack welding and fabrication, while maintaining an inventory of replacement parts.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain professional relationships with clients, responding to inquiries promptly and ensuring project quality standards are met. Assist in scheduling equipment preventive maintenance or repairs. Develop knowledge of safety practices, scheduling techniques, trade expertise, and employee engagement. Mentor and lead employees in safe work practices and knowledge sharing. Communicate regularly with Supervisors and Project Managers regarding project progress, risks, and forecasts. Address any hazardous or high-risk situations immediately and report unresolvable conditions to the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Millwright Foreperson. Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods. Manual dexterity and good balance when working at heights. Proficient in solving mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team. Willingness to work in remote locations. Solid understanding of safety protocols and policies in an industrial setting.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to perform repetitive movements.

· Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Flexibility to work shifts.

· Manual dexterity and ability to work in various weather conditions.

This position operates on a 10/4 rotation, with 10-hour workdays. Additional benefits include travel allowances.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $51.08 per hour
