The Role

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. is a multi-faceted construction firm providing exceptional civil, electrical, and mechanical services, including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. As one of Canada's largest and most diverse construction and infrastructure development companies, we are continually on the lookout for outstanding craft professionals to enhance our growing project portfolios. Reporting to the designated site supervisor, the Millwright Foreperson will deliver comprehensive knowledge and support for the Millwright profession, ensuring that Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. meets its general and specific project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

· Operate rigging equipment and dollies to transport heavy machinery and components.

· Install bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts with precision.

· Align and test equipment, making necessary adjustments.

· Conduct preventive and operational maintenance using techniques such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective components.

· Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic controls.

· Perform tack welding and fabrication while maintaining an inventory of replacement parts.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain a professional relationship with clients, responding to inquiries promptly and ensuring project quality standards are met. Assist in scheduling equipment preventative maintenance or repairs. Develop knowledge of safety practices, scheduling techniques, trade expertise, and employee engagement. Mentor employees in safe work practices and knowledge. Maintain regular communication with Supervisors and Project Managers regarding project progress, risks, and forecasts. Address any hazardous or high-risk situations immediately and report unresolvable conditions to the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Millwright Foreperson. Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods. Manual dexterity and good balance when working at heights. Proficient in solving mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team. Willingness to work in remote job locations. Strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on industrial job sites.

· Ability to perform repetitive movements.

· Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Flexibility to work shifts.

· Manual dexterity is essential.

· Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.

This position operates on a rotation schedule, with 10-hour shifts. Travel allowances are provided.
