We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our railcar repair operations at our Moose Jaw Service Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage work center(s) to ensure efficient and cost-effective railcar repair operations
  • Plan, organize, and schedule process repairs to railcars
  • Mentor employees to ensure safe and high-quality work practices
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and manage performance of production team members
  • Perform audits to ensure high-quality repairs
  • Accountable for production and quality metrics
  • Develop and implement operational improvements and growth strategies
  • Communicate work area status and activities to the Production Coordinator and downstream departments
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferably in railcar repair or blast and finishing
  • Knowledge of welding procedures and railcar materials
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to lead a versatile team and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and other software applications

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stoop for extended periods and move from kneeling to standing positions
  • Ability to perform overhead work for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and push/pull up to 140 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature environments and wear hearing protection
