Role Overview

The Chief Accountant will be accountable for managing the daily accounting functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting the Director of Finance in executing the financial strategy in alignment with the hotel's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting activities, providing guidance to the team and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Confirm daily bank balances by reviewing credit card reconciliations for the Director of Finance's approval.
  • Ensure the accuracy of cash handling reports and facilitate daily revenue deposits.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations of all general ledger accounts prior to the issuance of financial statements, reporting any discrepancies to the Director of Finance.
  • Review monthly financial reports in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure timely compliance with tax obligations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare various financial reports as requested by management.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in evaluating accounting policies, budgeting, and financial assessments.
  • Maintain organized filing of accounting records for efficient retrieval.
  • Stay informed about new regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in English and Thai, with strong communication skills.
  • Skilled in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant financial systems.
  • Experienced with MS Office applications, Sun System, and Micros.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on results and service excellence.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Consistently well-presented and professionally groomed.
