Join ACA as a Language Assessment Specialist

ACA, a prominent provider of language training solutions, is on the lookout for enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable professionals to conduct English language evaluations on a part-time basis for our new clientele.

Ideal candidates will possess sound judgment, a welcoming attitude, and the capability to assess the English proficiency of non-native speakers utilizing ACA's proprietary evaluation methods. A strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of grammar, and an acute ability to detect pronunciation errors are essential. Previous experience in teaching English as a second language is preferred.

Compensation: $20-23 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clarify the assessment process and provide reassurance to learners, potentially using French for those at lower proficiency levels
  • Assess learners' spoken English communication abilities through phone or online evaluations for corporate training
  • Analyze online assessment results and gauge learner performance
  • Utilize ACA's evaluation framework to categorize students into suitable language levels
  • Achieve a typing speed of at least 30 WPM to accurately transcribe responses and take notes while engaging with clients
  • Deliver precise descriptions and evaluations of learner skills, collaborating with evaluation coordinators as necessary
  • Complete registration documentation and provide feedback in learner records
  • Organize and adjust placement test schedules using Google Calendar and Calendly
  • Effectively manage multiple learner files and consecutive evaluations, honoring client time and maintaining a steady schedule
  • Coordinate follow-ups with ACA Account Coordinators as required
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers and the ACA team as needed
  • Manage a busy schedule and multitask efficiently in a dynamic environment
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and efficiency
  • Proficient in Apple OS, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and FileMaker Database
