We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health, providing exceptional care to children and adolescents with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to provide comprehensive care, including crisis intervention, patient and family education, and health promotion activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, promoting person-centered care and empathy.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, research, and education, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices.
- Act as an advocate for patients' rights, promoting autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, and access to information.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- One year of recent related experience in an acute psychiatric setting, with experience working with child or adolescent populations.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Skills and abilities, including crisis intervention, counseling, and group facilitation, as well as knowledge of mental illness, substance use treatment, and child and adolescent development.
