Leverage your expertise in procurement within this pivotal role, where you will oversee the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of parts and supplies for the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure an efficient procurement process is established and maintained for all aviation-related material acquisitions Assist in the formulation of procurement strategies and acquisition plans Ensure compliance with the standards and requirements set forth by the government of Ontario Identify and propose both long-term and short-term strategies to minimize overall product costs Conduct analyses and generate inventory reports to assess stock part replacement needs Prepare annual cost projections and maintenance schedules Collaborate with management, staff, and specialists regarding procurement processes, requirements, specifications, and best practices

Qualifications:

Procurement Expertise:

Comprehensive understanding of procurement principles and financial administration policies Familiarity with supply management policies, including Vendor of Record arrangements and buying protocols Knowledge of contract management and procurement processes to oversee vendor performance

Aviation Industry Acumen:

Strong understanding of the aviation sector in Canada, North America, and Europe, including trends affecting service availability and costs Ability to adhere to Transport Canada Regulations and industry standards, anticipating operational impacts Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations related to aircraft parts procurement and compliance Knowledge of aviation store procedures and inventory management practices Understanding of parts catalogues and aircraft component forecasting to analyze spending trends Awareness of the role of aircraft parts and warranties in ensuring value and compliance

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Strong communication and consultation abilities to address inquiries and clarify product specifications Effective interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders Proficient written communication skills for preparing detailed procurement documentation and reports

Relationship Management and Advisory Skills:

Ability to consult and advise management on opportunities for resource optimization and cost savings Advisory skills to assist in the preparation of comprehensive proposals and quotations Capacity to liaise with discretion and maintain confidentiality with vendors and staff

Analytical Skills:

Proven analytical abilities to evaluate quotations and tender submissions for cost-saving opportunities Experience in conducting post-contract evaluations and maintaining audit-ready procurement records Ability to interpret technical schematics and drawings.
