Position Overview:

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for a Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Engineer. Key Responsibilities:

The CIAM Engineer will collaborate with team members to architect, develop, test, deploy, and maintain various services on our centralized CIAM Platform, which supports applications utilized by our customers. This role demands substantial expertise in the deployment, support, and management of CIAM solutions, including user registration, authentication, user migration, lifecycle management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and single sign-on (SSO). The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about identity management technology and adept at navigating a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the technical authority on the CIAM Platform.
  • Leading CIAM Platform initiatives across various projects, focusing on services such as Authentication Patterns, MFA, SSO, Federation, API Authentication, and User Lifecycle Management.
  • Facilitating the delivery of CIAM solutions, including design, engineering, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to implement new CIAM features that align with our standards and meet technical, security, and business needs.
  • Providing advanced support for the CIAM Platform, addressing incidents and service requests.
  • Conducting troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues, leveraging internal and vendor support as necessary.
  • Managing production and non-production environments, ensuring timely updates and security measures.
  • Developing and maintaining integrations between the CIAM Platform and other security and information systems.
  • Creating and updating documentation relevant to initiatives, including technical designs, engineering runbooks, and maintenance procedures.
  • Utilizing change management practices to coordinate implementations from non-production to production environments.
  • Researching and validating new service capabilities and technologies.
  • Identifying efficiency opportunities and contributing to the automation of CIAM solutions.
  • Understanding and working within the DevOps framework.
  • Supporting the refresh of the CIAM Services roadmap and strategy.
  • Building strong relationships with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with 2-3 years in secure coding and software development using languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python.
  • Strong knowledge of foundational IAM principles, including authentication protocols like SSO, Federation, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and MFA.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with CIAM products.
  • Practical experience with leading CIAM solutions such as Forgerock, Ping, Okta, Transmit, or Auth0.
  • Experience with SAML, OAuth/OIDC, and REST APIs, along with a solid understanding of security protocols.
  • Experience integrating CIAM solutions with security tools like SIEM and network security systems.
  • Familiarity with delivery best practices and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO27001 or NIST.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • A self-motivated approach, capable of thriving in ambiguous situations.
  • Customer Identity Cloud Certification is a plus.
