Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring quality control over financial transactions, and providing financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting operations for multiple diverse companies, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, year-end reports, and other financial documents.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and implement department policies, processes, and practices to ensure compliance and stellar performance.
  • Support financial analysis initiatives, including evaluating company ventures, special projects, capital expenditures, and product costing.
  • Advise on and implement internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments.
Requirements
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong desire to lead a team of aspiring Accountants.
  • Leadership and coaching skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
