This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will involve the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting operations for multiple diverse entities, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including year-end reports.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage compliance with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and processes to ensure compliance and optimal performance, while creating reports to support our growth.
  • Assist in financial analysis initiatives for evaluating company projects, capital expenditures, and product costing.
  • Advise on and implement internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller.
  • 5+ years of comprehensive accounting and finance experience.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements.
  • Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Proficient in accounting software and administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A genuine desire to lead and mentor a team of aspiring accountants.
  • Leadership and coaching capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
