Position Overview

The Clinical Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the enhancement and maintenance of the Regional Health Information System (RHIS) within the Southeast Hospital Cluster. This position is pivotal in ensuring the effective functioning of clinical systems, particularly in the specialty areas of oncology and power trials. The analyst will provide essential support, conduct system updates, and optimize workflows while being part of a dedicated operations team.

Key Responsibilities

System Support and Configuration

  • Deliver comprehensive support for the Health Information System (HIS), addressing end-user inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure seamless system performance.
  • Manage user requests through detailed analysis and testing, adhering to established change management protocols.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify workflow challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the product component across various system environments (Development, Testing, Production).
  • Execute rigorous testing for system updates, ensuring that critical business processes are validated.
  • Facilitate system maintenance and enhancement activities, including new application integrations.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as required.
Project Management and Coordination
  • Engage with clients to prioritize projects aimed at optimizing the RHIS, managing all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Document and analyze stakeholder requirements to inform system enhancements.
  • Translate functional specifications into actionable technical solutions.
  • Integrate and reconcile requirements across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Gather user feedback on system performance and propose solutions for identified issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system issues and resolutions for future reference.
  • Monitor clinical workflows and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures and guidelines, participating in team meetings and vendor discussions.
  • Seek guidance from senior analysts for complex configurations and issues.
  • Identify key challenges and communicate them to management for resolution.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in clinical systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical or specialty areas, with a solid understanding of hospital information systems.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with systems development life cycle methodologies.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and experience with hospital information systems such as Cerner or Epic is preferred.
  • Completion of relevant training in system languages and database models is advantageous.
