Position Overview

The Clinical Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in the management and enhancement of the Regional Health Information System (RHIS) within the Southeast Hospital Cluster. This position is integral to ensuring the seamless operation of clinical systems, with a focus on oncology and power trials. The analyst will be responsible for providing support, maintenance, and optimization of system components, alongside offering on-call assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities

System Configuration and Support

  • Deliver comprehensive support for the Health Information System (HIS), addressing end-user inquiries and resolving technical issues.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Manage user requests by analyzing resolutions, performing tests, and implementing changes in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify workflow challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of system components across various operational environments.
  • Execute unit and integration testing for system updates and enhancements, ensuring critical business processes are thoroughly evaluated.
  • Implement necessary updates and maintenance activities for system components.
  • Facilitate enhancements and integrations of new applications as required.
  • Provide rotational on-call support to address urgent system needs.
Project Management and Coordination
  • Work closely with clients to prioritize projects aimed at optimizing the RHIS.
  • Engage with stakeholders to document and understand their specific business requirements.
  • Translate functional specifications into actionable technical solutions.
  • Integrate systems and reconcile requirements across various stakeholder groups.
  • Collect feedback from users regarding system performance and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Document system issues and resolutions for future reference.
  • Monitor clinical workflows and recommend enhancements where applicable.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures and guidelines for clinical operations.
  • Seek guidance from senior analysts for complex configurations and issues.
  • Notify management of significant issues that may require senior leadership intervention.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in clinical systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical or specialty areas, with a solid understanding of hospital information systems.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and management processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with systems development life cycle methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with hospital information systems such as Cerner, Meditech, or Epic is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of CCL and familiarity with database models is advantageous.
  • Must pass a criminal background check with vulnerable sector search.
