Job Summary

The Royal Mental Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based psychological services to individuals with operational stress injuries, including anxiety, mood, and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic interviews and write detailed diagnostic reports and treatment recommendations.
  • Administer and interpret standardized psychological assessment instruments for diagnostic and progress monitoring purposes.
  • Provide evidence-based psychological interventions, including individual and group treatment, and couples therapy.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in academic activities, including supervision, teaching, and training.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in hospital psychology meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and data collection.
  • Provide education and training to various stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from a CPA/APA accredited program.
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario is mandatory.
  • Experience in clinical mental health, with a focus on trauma and stress-related disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and substance use disorders.
  • Training in evidence-based therapies, such as PE, CPT, EMDR, CBT, BA, and MBSR.
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary service delivery model.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement, Best Practices, and Team Work.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing services to individuals with operational stress injuries. The primary work location may be reassigned to a satellite site. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.

Language Requirements

English language proficiency is mandatory, with a minimum level of A- in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.

Salary Range

$59.70 to $77.43 per hour (Psychologists under supervised practice = 95% of scale)
