The South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH) offers a temporary appointment in diagnostic radiology for a duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension to 6 months or longer. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of 5 radiologists to deliver diagnostic imaging services to SSRH, Queen's General Hospital, and Fisherman Memorial Hospital, including on-call responsibilities.

SSRH serves as a primary and secondary care hospital and is recognized as a district trauma center, featuring 85 inpatient beds across various units including medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetrics, and mental health.

  11. Medical and surgical units
  12. Mental health and addictions services
  13. Midwifery program
  14. Nutrition and diabetic counseling
  15. Obstetrics and gynecology services
  16. Occupational therapy
  17. Palliative care
  18. Perioperative services
  19. Physiotherapy
  20. Plastic surgery
  21. Psychiatry
  22. Respiratory therapy
  23. Social work
  24. Surgical intermediate care unit (SIMCU)
  25. Telehealth services
  26. Walk-in clinic
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide diagnostic imaging services including CT, ultrasound, x-ray, mammography, and nuclear medicine
  2. Perform various image-guided procedures
  3. Accountable to the Zone Department of Radiology for professional duties and quality of practice, adhering to the medical staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health
  4. Offer hospital and on-call support as needed
  5. Engage in additional administrative tasks as assigned
Work Schedule:
  1. Locum and/or short-term appointment
  2. On-call requirements
Qualifications:
  1. Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  2. Certification with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  3. Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
