The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Radiology Specialist to fill a 3-month temporary appointment position in diagnostic radiology at the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. This opportunity may be extended to a 6-month temporary appointment or longer.
The successful candidate will join a team of 5 radiologists to provide diagnostic imaging services to the hospital, as well as call coverage. The hospital is a primary and secondary care facility with 85 inpatient beds, including medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetrics, and mental health units.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic imaging services, including CT, ultrasound, x-ray, mammography, and nuclear medicine. They will also be responsible for various image-guided procedures and will work under the supervision of the Zone Department of Radiology.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiology and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide diagnostic imaging services, including CT, ultrasound, x-ray, mammography, and nuclear medicine
- Perform various image-guided procedures
- Work under the supervision of the Zone Department of Radiology
- Provide hospital and call support as required
- Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Certification with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
