The South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH) is offering a temporary appointment in diagnostic radiology for a duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension to 6 months or longer. The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of 5 radiologists to deliver diagnostic imaging services to the SSRH, Queen's General Hospital, and Fisherman Memorial Hospital, including on-call coverage.

SSRH serves as a primary and secondary care facility and is recognized as a district trauma center, equipped with 85 inpatient beds across various units such as medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetrics, and mental health. This modern regional hospital plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in Bridgewater and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide diagnostic imaging services including CT, ultrasound, x-ray, mammography, and nuclear medicine
  2. Perform various image-guided procedures
  3. Adhere to professional responsibilities and quality of practice as mandated by the Zone Department of Radiology and the medical staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health
  4. Offer hospital and on-call support as necessary
  5. Engage in additional administrative responsibilities as assigned
Expected Work Hours:
  1. Locum and/or short-term appointment
  2. On-call requirement
Qualifications:
  1. Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  2. Certification with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  3. Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
