About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions, this role functions as a key member of the Mental Health & Addictions Program and multi-disciplinary team. You will actively participate in planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating programs within the Mental Health & Addictions field.

The Occupational Therapist demonstrates sound professional judgment and initiative while adhering to the framework and objectives set by the Mental Health & Addictions program, as well as the organization's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Directions. Your daily practice will incorporate the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.

About You

  • You hold a graduate degree from an accredited University Program in Occupational Therapy.
  • You are eligible for membership in the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association.
  • You are eligible to register and practice Occupational Therapy in Nova Scotia.
  • You have at least one year of experience as an Occupational Therapist, with a minimum of one recent year (within the last five) working in an inpatient/outpatient Mental Health & Addiction setting.
  • You possess experience in developing collaborative partnerships and initiatives with other agencies and community stakeholders.
  • You are able to provide effective Addiction & Mental Health/Occupational Therapy assessments.
  • You demonstrate a commitment to continuing education to maintain or enhance your professional knowledge.
  • You are dedicated to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health.
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling you to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other healthcare providers, and staff. You demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, and warmth in your interactions.
  • You are able to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

Hours

  • Permanent Full Time position; 75 Hours Bi Weekly

Compensation and Incentives

$42.89 Hourly
