Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health and Addictions team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to adults with mental health and addiction needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with a focus on mental health and addiction. You will be able to work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide education and support to patients and their families.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Graduate of an accredited University Program in Occupational Therapy
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association
- Eligible for registration to practice Occupational Therapy in Nova Scotia
- One year experience as an Occupational Therapist, with at least one year (recent) within the last five, in an inpatient/outpatient Mental Health & Addiction setting
- Experience in the development of collaborative partnerships and initiatives with other agencies and community stakeholders
- Ability to provide effective Addiction & Mental Health/Occupational Therapy assessment
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing continuing education to maintain or enhance professional knowledge
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other health care providers and staff, demonstrating sensitivity, empathy and warmth
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $33.96 - $42.89.
