The FSJACL is an accredited agency with a trained, caring, and trusted professional team of over 80 employees who provide quality services and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The FSJACL works collaboratively with community partners to achieve our vision of inclusion for all.

Support Workers assist individuals with a variety of tasks, which can include:

- Personal hygiene,
- Dressing,
- Life skills such as meal preparation and house cleaning,
- Medication administration,
- Accessing the community to attend events or appointments.

This is an excellent career choice for people who enjoy interacting with others, appreciate variety in their daily work, and want to make a difference in the lives of others. The ideal support worker is caring, supportive, and makes individuals feel independent and involved in their community.

We are looking for specific attributes and a candidate with the right personality. Training is provided.

This is a casual position, and union (BCGEU) membership is required of all successful applicants. The wage is $25.95 per hour and 10.6% paid on all hours worked in lieu of benefits.

- Flexibility and creativity.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Provide a positive, respectful, and safe work environment.
- Compassionate towards people and can support individuals in a non-judgmental way.

Requirements:

- Able to work shift work. Most of our programs are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Valid Canadian driver's license.
- Vulnerable sector criminal record clearance. (Completed through the FSJACL after successful interview.)
- Clear Tuberculosis screening. (Instructions for booking screening will be provided after successful interview.)
- Must be 19 years of age or older. Applicants who turn 19 within the calendar year will be considered.
