**Personal Support Worker (PSW) for Parkinson's Patient in Niagara**

**Location**: St. Catharines, Ontario

**Position Type**: Fulltime - 40 hours per week

**Hours**: Overnight from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, four nights per week.

**Salary**: $20 - $30 per hour, based on PSW experience

**Start date**: January 2, 2025

**About Us**:
We are a compassionate family seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide overnight care for our loved one with advanced Parkinson's Disease. Our home is a nurturing environment located in St. Catharines, Ontario. We believe in fostering a supportive atmosphere where both our loved one and our caregiver feel valued and respected.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide attentive and compassionate care for our family member throughout the night.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including dressing, toileting, peri-care, and hygiene.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and instructions.
- Ensure patient is safe from falling by closely monitoring movements, placing walker within close reach, and assisting with standing and walking.
- Help alleviate symptoms of Parkinson's disease, such as stiffness, pain, and mobility issues.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to our loved one throughout the night.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home by tidying and cleaning as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW).
- Previous experience working with individuals with Parkinson's disease is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a home care setting.
- Good communication skills and a compassionate demeanour.
- Reliable transportation to and from our location in St. Catharines, Ontario.
