Our established engineering client is actively seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join their collaborative team in Ottawa. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role will support onboarding, employee relations, and HRIS administration to ensure smooth and efficient HR processes.

This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary, paid benefits, and growth opportunities. It follows a hybrid work model, requiring one on-site day per week at the client's Ottawa office.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately process new hires and employment changes in HR systems.
- Facilitate onboarding sessions and coordinate activities with relevant stakeholders.
- Address employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Manage and monitor the HR inbox to ensure timely responses and task completion.
- Track employee contract end dates and acting assignments.
- Collaborate with payroll on matters related to timesheets, benefits, retirement plans, salary changes, and new hires.
- Process employee referrals and generate monthly reports for payroll.
- Prepare employee verification letters and employment contracts as needed.
- Assist in generating HR reports, including payroll change summaries, leave summaries, headcount reports, and employee movement updates.
- Support the administration of various employee leave types, such as short-term disability, long-term disability, parental leave, and other leaves of absence.
- Provide support for recruitment efforts as required.
- Perform other HR-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Must possess a valid Reliability clearance and be eligible for a Secret clearance.
- Post-secondary education in human resources, industrial relations, organizational development, or a related field, with at least one year of relevant HR experience.
- Proficiency in HRIS data entry and strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
