Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager oversees delivery of Human Resources services within the assigned region. This position manages day-to-day functions of the Human Resources team, providing consistent employee relations support, fostering a positive environment where individuals and teams can thrive and deliver high performance. The Human Resources Manager works collaboratively with leadership to successfully execute aligned human resources programs and business initiatives.
Location
This role offers the flexibility to be based anywhere within Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Manages the human resources team consisting of Human Resources Business Partners and Human Resources Coordinators. This includes but is not limited to the day-to-day supervision and assignment of tasks, performance management and annual performance reviews of said team members. Provides guidance, training, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to Human Resources team members.
- Partners with key stakeholders to support successful execution of initiatives and other key performance indicators within the assigned province.
- Supports positive employee relations across the assigned region. Provides coaching to management regarding employee performance, productivity or behaviour based on established policy, practice and/or contract. Prepares and/or reviews documentation when required, supporting the process to ensure positive outcomes.
- Fosters a culture of engagement across the assigned region. Plays a key role in organizational culture & engagement initiatives, such as engagement surveys, listening sessions, workplace experience check-ins.
- Monitors trends and themes using HR data & analytics to drive decision-making relating to the HR function within the assigned province.
- Provides data and analytics to leaders relating to Human Resources and other related operational metrics to support business reporting, planning and management.
- Provides guidance to managers around compensation plans that aligns with company programs. Plays an integral role in annual wage and incentive review processes.
- Supports the recruitment, selection and onboarding processes, ensuring Neighbourly’s process, policies and all applicable legislation is followed consistently. Works with key stakeholders, using internal and external resources (when applicable) to fulfill workforce staffing plans ensuring completion of required documentation, e.g. hiring authorizations, employment agreements, etc.
- When required, prepares detailed reports to support company’s position for legal or other regulatory cases in collaboration with Neighbourly’s counsel.
- Liaising with the Payroll & Benefits team on a regular basis. Supports activities ensuring the orderly processing of payroll, benefits, and disability processes as applicable. Participates in return-to-work discussions as required.
- Supports annual performance management process and assists with tracking and reporting as required.
- Plays an active role in the facilitation of Neighbourly’s training and development programs.
- Supports Neighbourly’s Health, safety & wellness and regulatory compliance initiatives, including injury prevention and ability management as required.
- Supports internal audit process of associate files to ensure consistent format and compliance with Neighbourly policy and legislative requirements.
- In the spirit of continuous improvement, participates in and/or leads projects on behalf of HR to further evolve and drive the business forward.

Required Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources.
- Five (5)+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources environment.
- CHRP Designation (achieved or in progress) is an asset.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
