Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities

Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement of their business goals. It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the team's daily actions with the strategic vision of the ministry. As a Regional Manager, you will:

- Manage Program Coordination and Delivery: Oversee the coordination and delivery of programs, activities, and initiatives, ensuring compliance and monitoring emerging trends and issues through consultation with ministry staff and external client groups.
- Evaluate and Modify Programs: Assess existing programs and implement modifications to reflect changes in strategy, legislation, and other factors. Collaborate with colleagues to establish supporting processes, standards, systems, tools, procedures, guidelines, and directives.
- Lead Project Teams: Provide overall planning, management, and coordination in the implementation of project objectives, terms of reference, project charters, and work plans. Monitor progress to ensure the completion of all project deliverables.
- Consultation and Advisory: Offer consultation, advice, and information on program details, regulatory/compliance issues, and other concerns to stakeholders, industry representatives, and consultants. Provide technical advice and leadership in implementing specialized processes related to regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Manage External Service Providers: Monitor the performance and delivery of services provided by external service providers, provide feedback, and assist in the negotiation and overall management of contracts.
- Business and Operational Planning: Ensure that area goals and objectives are attained through the development and implementation of comprehensive business and operational planning. Contribute to the implementation, review, updating, and refinement of operational or program-related policies and strategies.

How do I qualify?

Leadership Experience:

- Team Management: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including setting performance standards, conducting performance reviews, and fostering an inclusive and engaged work environment.
- Strategic Planning: Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive business and operational plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing consultation and resolving conflicts to ensure program success.
- Project Leadership: Demonstrated expertise in planning, managing, and coordinating projects, ensuring the completion of deliverables and alignment with strategic objectives.

Technical Knowledge:

- Mineral Exploration and Mining Cycle: In-depth knowledge of principles, theories, and practices related to all stages of the mineral exploration and mining cycle, including key issues that influence the industry.
- Regulatory Compliance: Expertise in relevant legislation, regulations, and investigation processes to oversee program delivery and ensure adherence to acts and regulations.
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management principles and methodologies to effectively manage the delivery of program plans, initiatives, and goals.
- Indigenous Consultation: Understanding of the constitutional framework for Indigenous peoples and the Crown's Duty to consult, including factors and issues impacting Indigenous communities and principles for engaging and building relationships with Indigenous partners.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

- Effective Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including stakeholders, industry representatives, and Indigenous communities.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Proven experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, partners, and clients to address issues, provide technical support, and ensure standards are met.
- Conflict Resolution: Skilled in consulting, negotiating, facilitating, and resolving conflicts between proponents, stakeholders, and Indigenous partners, ensuring collaborative and mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Public Representation: Experience representing the organization on local industry committees, boards, task forces, and working groups to promote program awareness and address program-related issues and concerns.

Change Management and Organizational Skills:

- Program Evaluation and Modification: Experience in evaluating existing programs and implementing modifications to reflect changes in strategy, legislation, and other factors, ensuring programs remain effective and aligned with organizational goals.
- Operational Planning: Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive business and operational plans to achieve area goals and objectives, ensuring efficient and effective program delivery.
- Process Improvement: Skilled in establishing and refining processes, standards, systems, tools, procedures, guidelines, and directives to support program delivery and enhance operational efficiency.
- Issue Management: Expertise in anticipating and identifying potential key issues, following established issues management and communications protocols, and developing responses to address complaints and concerns effectively.
