PRIMECorp is seeking an experienced, customer centric and self-starting Human Resources Generalist to join our small team in Burnaby, BC. As the sole HR professional, the HR Generalist will be responsible for providing full-cycle human resources support to our team of leaders and employees with an initial focus on benefits enrollment and administration, performance management, talent acquisition and attendance and leave management.

As the go-to for all things HR, the Generalist will work with out HR Consultants to support the design and implementation of new programs and policies. This role will get to take ownership of all things HR for PrimeCorp and support our team in navigating HR programs, policies and any issues that may arise.

As we are a small team where we wear many hats, we are looking for someone who is willing and open to help with completing tasks outside HR as needed.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
- Support the development and review of new and existing job descriptions and completing the job evaluation process for position compensation
- Supports the onboarding of all new employees including by not limited to ensuring paperwork is completed and submitted, preparing for and delivering new hire orientations etc.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Identifies training and development needs for the organization.
- Assists in the development of the performance management process, collaborating with department managers to help establish evaluation criteria and feedback mechanisms, and actively manages the program. Provides support and resources to department managers on evaluating employee performance, and helps ensure consistency and fairness in the evaluation process and support to department managers on delivering effective feedback, coaching employees, and addressing performance issues or other concerns, including creating PIPs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Provides support to employees experiencing work-related and personal challenges, referring them to appropriate external service providers when needed.
- Supports the development of employee satisfaction surveys and providing recommendations for improvement to management.
- Develop and implement employee recognition and reward program, and promote a positive work culture.
- Manages WCB and/or disability claims and return to work programs
- Maintains and administers the organization’s employee benefits, including changes, inquiries, enrolments, terminations, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate employee data in systems to facilitate payroll and benefits.
- Provide support to the payroll team as required, including covering payroll duties when needed.
- Maintains the employee handbook, policies, processes, and procedures; ensures required policies are in place and signed off by staff, and provides training on policies as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience
- CPHR or SHRM Designation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience providing full-cycle human resources support
- A self-starter who takes ownership of their work, takes initiative and is able to work with mínimal supervision
- Strong knowledge and experience with Attendance and Leave Management including LTD and STD
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Previous experience providing full-cycle recruitment experience
- Experience either processing or supporting the processing of payroll
- Knowledge and experience managing benefits including enrollments, administration and making changes
- Knowledge of the legislation, regulations, policies and procedures governing the work.
- Knowledge of payroll and HRIS/ATS systems
- Knowledge of change management process, tools and techniques to support individuals to successfully adopt change to achieve business outcome
- Ability to be proactive in their work; sees what needs to be done and does it - quickly and well
- Ability to anticipate, investigate, research and analyze complex and unique problems, and to resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion
- Ability to facilitate change and incorporate a high degree of on-going stakeholder involvement
- Ability to respond to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
