We are looking for and enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced **Project Coordinator and Researcher** to join our team and coordinate an exciting project, the revitalization of Homalco laws and legal traditions. This project is about bringing Homalco teachings, protocols, and laws back to Homalco people.

This person will be responsible for organizing people, time, and resources related to this project. These responsibilities will include conducting extensive research and data analysis, coordinating interviews with Elders and Knowledge Holders, establishing an archive and a database for the research and data collected, and preparing and presenting updates regularly to our team and Homalco members. They will work closely with our Rights and Title Coordinator, and with the Lands and Governance Director. They will also provide mentorship to a Homalco member.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Working closely with the Rights and Title Coordinator, along with other members of our team and contractors.
- Developing and coordinating a project plan and schedule.
- Conducting research into Homalco’s stories, customs, language, protocols, maps, placenames, photos, etc.
- Organizing and facilitate interviews with Elders and Knowledge Holders.
- Traveling to archives and other facilities housing relevant information.
- Creating an archive for the research and data collected.
- Organizing and facilitate community engagement and events.
- Going through the information gathered and identifying Homalco laws, legal principles, and legal traditions.
- Establishing database, or law library, where Homalco’s values, legal principles, and legal orders will be stored.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Excellent research and data management skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Education background in either Ethnohistory, Anthropology, History, or in Law with a focus on Indigenous Law Revitalization.
- Minimum of two-years experience in project management, research, or Indigenous law revitalization.
- Experience working within an Indigenous community.
