**Job Overview**
EDC is seeking a Director of Government Relations to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Vice President of Public Affairs and International Relations, this Director is responsible for leading EDC’s government relations team, a group of dedicated professionals who provide oversight and strategic guidance on engagement with the Canadian Government, EDC’s sole shareholder, and various corporate governance and transparency deliverables.
**Responsibilities**
- Inspires a team of dedicated professionals, builds talent for the future and effectively manages performance;
- Directs the development and implementation of the organization’s government engagement plan to support corporate objectives;
- Provides strategic advice in the development and approvals of major governance deliverables such as the annual Corporate Plan;
- Ensures timely, accurate and relevant reporting and responses to Government information requests;
- Liaises with EDC’s shareholder department(s) on governance-related matters and monitors EDC’s execution to ensure alignment of EDC’s priorities with the expectations of the Minister;
- Supervises monitoring and assessment of the potential impact of important legislation, government policies and political developments and establishes strategies for addressing impacts;
- Works collaboratively across the Public Affairs and International Relations group, with EDC’s senior management team, and with other key collaborators across the organization.
**Qualifications - **Screening Criteria**
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in government relations, communications, public policy, international affairs and/or stakeholder relations, or related experience
- Advanced knowledge of policy development/stakeholder relations management principles and practices
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
- Undergrad degree in Business Administration, Public Policy and Administration, Communications, International Relations or related discipline
- Fluently Bilingual in both official languages

**Salary Range**:
- Dir. Stakeholder Relations 20: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $124,273 to $165,696 plus a performance-based incentive.
