**What responsibilities will you have in this role?**
Under the direction of the BSI’s CEO & Chair and Director of Curriculum Development & Training, and in collaboration with SMEs and faculty members, the incumbent will support the Institute’s academic program planning processes as it pertains to the transformation of the existing Interdisciplinary Design Strategy program and its new professional development courses. The BSI Program Administrator will provide project coordination and administrative support for the development of the Brookfield Sustainability Institute’s (BSI) new micro-courses and graduate certificate program. The position will help steer and add value to the College’s sustainability efforts in the areas of research, education and innovation.
- Coordinates communication between faculty members, guest lecturers and key partners throughout the course/program planning process.
- Supports the design and development of new micro-courses on sustainability (ex: including mapping, refining etc.).
- Establishes alignment of ministry-approved requirements as it pertains to the transformation of the existing Interdisciplinary Design Strategy program.
- Ensures consistency across course delivery and evaluation methods in all modules and courses.
- Develops creative briefs and executes exploratory charrettes to secure new industry project partnerships.
- Liaises with potential and current partners to ensure alignment of project deliverables with student academic needs.
- Organizes internal academic charrettes in cross-collaboration with GBC schools and departments (ex. Fall Charrette, International Charrette, etc.).
- Coordinates outreach and promotion of courses/programs across social media, College networks and external channels.
- Fields inquiries and coordinates information sessions to attract potential students (local and international).
- Coordinates the update of program information on the institute’s website/portal and other relevant channels.
- Works closely with Registrar, International and Admissions to process offers to prospective students.
- Provides support to students on academic processes and procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Assists to monitor KPIs and implements recommendations for improvement to the program under the direction of the CEO, Chair & Dean.
- Supports the operational and financial processes of the program including budget preparation, expense tracking, etc.
- Other related duties as assigned.
**What qualifications do you need for this role?**
- Four year Bachelor's Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Design, Education, or equivalent field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an academic setting. Experience working with students and faculty at a post-secondary and graduate level.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Miro Board and/or Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
- Solid understanding/knowledge of course development, curriculum planning and academic processes.
- Developing, organizing, and implementing consultation workshops (i.e. charrettes, design jams/sprints) in an academic and/or professional setting.
- Providing project coordination and administrative support to multidisciplinary teams.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of climate change and sustainability issues is a must.
- Strong knowledge of Interdisciplinary Design Strategy program (participation in program would be an asset).
- Ability to travel off-campus and between campuses as required.
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
- Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
