**Job Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide exceptional support to ensure the implementation of health and safety initiatives that align with the organization's safety culture and goals, as well as regulations and best practices.
- Develop and deliver regular safety training programs for employees at all levels. Ensure that training materials are up-to-date and effectively communicate key safety concepts.
- Provide training to employees on safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incidents, and ensure that all records are complete, up-to-date, and in compliance.
- Collaborate with health and safety consultants to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization, encouraging active participation in safety initiatives and programs.
- Maintain provincial and local regulations to ensure adherence to company, regulatory, and safety requirements, including compliance with established procedures, documentation completion, and annual reviews.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track safety performance.
- Create and develop daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meeting communications.
- May receive calls outside the regular working hours in the event of an accident or severe injury.
- Oversees regular internal inspections of the workplace identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards, taking appropriate corrective action to address any hazards identified during inspections.
- Additional duties as requested.
**Qualifications**:
- Ability to work with and influence others to cultivate a positive safety culture.
- Able to create written safety procedures such as Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), Safety Procedures, Safety Policies, and Standard Work Practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication. Able to speak clearly and persuasively in challenging situations. Able to talk to large groups of people delivering orientations and practical training.
- 2-5 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Experience developing and facilitating training programs and protocols, as well as experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and strong organizational and time management.
- Knowledge and skill with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
