The Compensation and Benefits team is currently seeking a kind and positive person with a strong customer focus and supportive team spirit to join our team. To succeed in this role you need to be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-union work environment with high volumes and a wide variety of responsibilities. You look for the best in others, and carry out your work with extraordinary care and attention to detail. As the Compensation and Benefits Advisor (CBA) you will provide support to members of the Niagara Health (NH) team related to onboarding and welcoming of new employees, processing transfers, administration of employee benefits, pension, compensation, retirements, and leaves. You will be responsible for the confidential maintenance and access to employee records and HRIS data, and will provide direct customer service to employees with inquires. The Compensation and Benefits Advisor processes employee transactions in partnership with other departments - so the ability to develop great work relationships is key. Availability to work at any NH location is required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- College diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits or Pension Administration.
- Related previous work experience in a unionized organization within healthcare preferred.
Previous experience with Manulife and HOOPP administration preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- Excellent organizational, attention to detail, analytical, and communication skills.
- Flexible, self-directed, and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated professionalism, a positive attitude with a willingness to align to the NH core values.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
